Becoming a BID Board Director

Weymouth BID has a golden opportunity to help improve the trading environment in Weymouth & Portland over the 5 years of the BID business plan.

As a Weymouth BID Levy payer you are in a position to have a say and make that happen and you can become even more involved by taking the opportunity to stand as a Board Director. As a Board Director you will be in a position to help support the BID team in delivering the business plan, monitoring its progress and performance and helping to make the strategic decisions to achieve its aims and ambitions.

This role should not be taken lightly as whilst it is a voluntary position those on the board will be expected to actively participate and be able to bring skills and experience that help the Weymouth BID, with the support of its operational team, to achieve its goals. The Weymouth BID board is clear in its aims that Board Directors should be very much supporters of the BID and be able to act as ambassadors to promote the Weymouth BID.

At least two days per month should be considered as the minimum amount of time as a board director.

The board aims to have a wide mix of board directors that cover all areas of business and skills relevant to operating a board at a strategic level.

Nominations to the BID Board

There are four forms to be completed for nomination

  1. WAW Director application 2021
  2. WAW Board Skills Audit 2021
  3. WAW Register of Interest 2021
  4. WAW Levy Members Application 2021


These need to be completed and returned with signatures to the BID office
