The seminar will cover the value of tourism to both towns, successful projects, issue faced by coastal towns, BID renewals, managing events, successful grant applications and regeneration.

A tour has been arranged to showcase the Weymouth & Portland area and includes the regeneration of Castletown

Karen Young Projects Manager at Great Yarmouth Tourism and BID said “The mission is to learn more about how other resorts manage and promote themselves.  Over the last 15 years discussions have sparked new ideas and new projects that have been implemented including a major regeneration project and our Business Improvement District (BID). Many lessons are shared between the resorts and have proved invaluable to both host and guests.”

Alan Carr, Chief Executive of Great Yarmouth Tourism and Business Improvement Area who will be speaking at the seminar added “We are especially keen to speak with local businesses on their experiences to provide a balanced view from the commercial and public sector and hope a number will attend the seminar so that we can learn from each other and make some good contacts.”.

Steve Newstead, Chair of Weymouth BID said, “This is a great opportunity to meet with another coastal town that has a BID and Tourism as a large part of its economy and how they are competing in this sector.”

This invitation is open to all businesses, but to help us determine attendance numbers please confirm your attendance to info@weymouthbid.co.uk.
