WEYMOUTH BID LAUNCH NEW BUSINESS PLAN - VOTE YES and improve your Weymouth business

The current term of the Weymouth BID will end on the 31st August 2018.  Weymouth businesses have been working with Weymouth BID via a steering committee to construct a robust business plan which will be for the term 2018 – 2023

Richard Lamb Chair of Weymouth BID said “Today, after much hard work, the business plan for BID 2 is launched.  The business plan has been constructed by a wide and diverse group of people, reflecting the business mix of Weymouth and the voice of levy payers.

The nature and structure of the BID has changed dramatically since 2017, with a new COO and Board. The lessons of the past have been incorporated into ways of working already and the business plan demonstrates how different our approach is to that of others in the past.

As a multiple levy payer, I want to see investment in the look and feel of the town, ensure that any investment in marketing is well spent, and that I have a voice in how the town is developed as all of these elements affect my business and the people that work with me.

The work of the sub-committee and the new Board accurately reflect my desires and I believe will for others within Weymouth.  It has been a tough winter for all of us, and we are all hopeful of a strong and profitable summer.   By voting yes for BID 2, we can all be part of building the base to develop our fantastic town for the next 5 years.”

If the ballot for a YES vote is successful,  businesses will be able to take advantage of some of the many benefits such as:

  • Access to the well-established We Are Weymouth digital marketing platform which had a reach of over 5 million in 2017
  • Access to utility saving experts
  • Use of a dedicated Weymouth based Tourist Information platform
  • Business Advice Bureau - Access to experts for advice and guidance
  • Access to additional funding by partnerships with other organisations and local authority for specific projects

Claudia Moore, Chief Operations Manager of Weymouth BID said “Weymouth is an exciting place to be at the moment. We have a fabulous town with a fantastic choice of shops and businesses and some of the region’s most attractive scenery. We have huge potential in Weymouth but to release it we need the businesses to work together and be part of this initiative. It’s time to stop talking about what we could do and put our resources together to make it happen.”
