Make an Impact – become a BID Board Member

The Directors of Weymouth BID are all volunteers, committed to the key objective of improving the trading environment and creating opportunities for the town for the benefit of BID businesses.

Jonathan Oldroyd, who runs Gloucester House Hotel says:

"When we moved to Weymouth, I felt it tremendously important to get involved in the local community and give something back. I joined the Weymouth BID Board, as I wanted to be personally involved and have a say in how the Town and all our businesses could be improved and promoted, together with a particular emphasis on enhancing the welcome and look and feel of the Town and reducing street-based anti-social behaviour.

For me to get involved and play my part, was an easy decision. I believe that the levy represents excellent value for what we get, for the relatively small amount of money we pay as a Levy payers. If we each tried to use our levy amount on our own, to improve and enhance the town, increase and promote footfall and our businesses, we would not get much for our money.

However, The BID is an exciting opportunity for all businesses in the Town, to work more closely together, in a proactive way to ensure each of our businesses and the town continue to thrive. We have much history and so many attributes including some large and significant employers.

The BID exists to help develop Weymouth's potential and provide support to all our local businesses. We make decisions based on the evidence presented to us, to benefit all the levy payers. I continue to look forward to being able to help to achieve that.

However, we need many more local Levy payers to consider joining the Board. We really need a cross section from all business sectors in the town, to help and have your say in how our substantial levy is distributed most effectively, efficiently, and most of all, to make a real difference to us all. If like me you have a passion for Weymouth, please consider committing to get involved."

If you wish to stand for election to the Weymouth BID Board, please email info@weymouthbid.co.uk to receive the relevant documents.

Weymouth BID welcomes applications from all members. We are striving to enhance the diversity of the Board.

The completion and submission of the Nomination Form cannot guarantee a seat on the Board of Directors. In order to ensure that a range of relevant sectors & skills are represented on the Board, candidates will need to set out their experience and their commitment to ensuring the success of Weymouth BID.
