Weymouth Business Improvement District Weymouth ‘Weyfarer’ Volunteers

One of the key objectives of the BID's 5-year programme is to help combat ‘seasonality’ through out-of-season marketing, hosting regular themed events and delivering a new Volunteer ‘Weyfarer’ scheme, to provide a warm welcome, information and guidance to visitors throughout the year.

This volunteer programme is based on the successful 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games Volunteer Ambassador programme, when over 560 local people and others provided a fantastic volunteer workforce.

The Weymouth BID Volunteer ‘‘Weyfarer’’ project is officially recognised by the London 2012 Legacy Unit as a post-Games legacy initiative and as such the use of the ‘Inspired by 2012’ logo has been authorised and is therefore an integral part of the project, helping to raise its profile.

‘Weyfarer’ Training Programme will be provided which all appointed ‘Weyfarers’ must attend before taking up their volunteer duties.
