Weymouth is rewinding to one of its most iconic decades this summer as We Are Weymouth launches its 90s BIG Weekender, part of the town-wide #WeyBackWhen campaign celebrating the golden days of the Great British Seaside.
Taking place from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June, the 90s BIG Weekender is set to transform the town into a nostalgic playground packed with retro fun, family favourites, and throwback entertainment. From live music and pop-up performances to a full stage show tribute to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Weymouth Pavilion, the event promises something for every millennial, Gen Xer, and 90s-loving family.
Highlights include:
- A Red Hot Chilli Peppers show bringing grunge to the Pavilion stage
- Live 90s music acts across 7 pubs in Weymouth and DJs spinning Britpop, rave and chart classics
- Retro Games at locations in the town – Sticks & Bones and The Three Chimneys
- A Throwback Glasto-festival night
- Nostalgic seaside treats and themed menus in local cafés, pubs and bars
Dawn Rondeau-Irvine, Chief Operations Officer at We Are Weymouth, comments: “The 90s were a golden era for family seaside holidays – from inflatables on the beach to penny arcades and ice creams on the prom. With the huge revival of 90s fashion, music and culture, now felt like the perfect time to celebrate. Our 90s BIG Weekender is part of our #WeyBackWhen campaign which looks back at Weymouth through the eras, inviting locals and visitors alike to relive the magic of their seaside memories.”

The #WeyBackWhen campaign explores Weymouth’s enduring appeal across generations – from King George III’s sea bathing era to the family holidays of the 50s, 70s and beyond. The 90s Weekender follows successful 60s, 70s and 80s events, with more to come throughout 2025.
Whether you’re reliving your youth or introducing the kids to your favourite tunes, the 90s Weekender promises a feel-good trip down memory lane – all against the stunning backdrop of Weymouth’s famous beach and harbour.
