This week we headed down to St Thomas Street this week to see something completely new for Weymouth – and it’s safe to say, it didn’t disappoint.
GLOBALLS has officially opened its doors in the town centre, bringing a glow-in-the-dark mini golf experience right into the heart of Weymouth. And after stepping inside, it’s clear this is more than just a game of crazy golf, it’s a full on immersive experience.
Stepping Into Another World
From the moment you walk in, everything changes. The lights drop, the colours glow, and suddenly you’re transported somewhere else entirely.
There are two themed courses to explore:
-
ZooZilla – a bold, exotic world filled with oversized animals and vibrant detail
-
Dinotopia – a prehistoric landscape with towering dinosaurs and dramatic scenery
Both courses are made up of 12 holes, but they’re not your standard layouts. Expect surprises along the way, including ball pits and slides that add a playful, slightly chaotic twist to the experience.
Not Just for Families
What stood out straight away is how broad the appeal is.
Yes, families will love it – it’s colourful, interactive and genuinely fun for all ages. But it also feels like a great option for:
-
Date nights
-
Groups of friends
-
Birthday celebrations
-
Corporate team outings
It’s the kind of place you can come back to more than once, and still have a different experience.
A Year-Round Addition to Weymouth
One of the biggest things this brings to the town is a reliable, all-weather activity.
Being fully indoors and just a short walk from the seafront, GLOBALLS adds something Weymouth has been missing – a go to option when the weather isn’t playing ball, or when you’re looking for something to do beyond the beach.
A Positive Step for the High Street
Seeing new businesses open in the town centre is always a moment to celebrate – and GLOBALLS is a brilliant addition. It brings energy, colour and something brand new to the high street. It also reflects what we’re seeing more of in Weymouth, a mix of independent businesses and new experiences that give people more reasons to spend time in town.
Dawn Rondeau-Irvine, Chief Operations Officer at We Are Weymouth comments: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome GLOBALLS to Weymouth town centre. This is exactly the kind of exciting, year round leisure experience our town has been crying out for. GLOBALLS brings something genuinely different to our high street; a vibrant, all weather destination that will appeal to families, locals and visitors alike. It’s a brilliant addition to Weymouth’s growing offer, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
Owners Patrick and Julie Cosgrove comment: “Weymouth was a no-brainer for us for our second location of GLOBALLS, my family have been coming here for generations and it holds such a special place in our hearts. As you move through the attraction, we hope you see nods to the local area and stories from us throughout. We’re excited to welcome visitors from near and far.”
