We’ve got some exciting news, Weymouth. Your 2026 events leaflet has officially landed – and honestly, we couldn’t be more thrilled about what’s in store for our brilliant town this year.
We Are Weymouth has teamed up with Weymouth Town Council to bring you a year absolutely rammed with things to see, do, and experience – whether you’re a long time local or a visitor discovering Weymouth for the first time. From fireworks over the seafront to zombie-themed weekends (yes, really), 2026 has something for absolutely everyone.
So, what’s coming up?
The fun kicks off in April with the return of Weymouth Bike and Classic Car Night from the 2nd – always a crowd pleaser. Families, don’t miss the animal-themed spring event at Tumbledown on the 10th, and there’s also the moving ANZAC Day service at the seafront memorial on the 25th, followed by Drive It Day on the 26th by the iconic Jubilee Clock.
And that’s just April.

As the year unfolds, you’ll have the Wessex Folk Festival, Fayre in the Square, the National Volleyball Championships, Armed Forces Weekend, beach motocross, the Seafood Festival, Dusk Til Dark, Kings Dip, Pirates Weekend, Zombies, Halloween, the Elf World Record attempt and parade, the Christmas Lights Switch On… we could go on. The point is: your weekends are sorted.

Why does all this matter?
Events aren’t just good fun – they’re the heartbeat of our town. They bring visitors in, they keep our high street buzzing, they give our community something to rally around. As our Chief Operation Officer Dawn Rondeau-Irvine puts it, “one of Weymouth’s greatest strengths is how everyone pulls together to keep the town vibrant and alive throughout the year. Events invite people to explore, have fun, and fall in love with our beautiful harbour and seafront all over again.”
And it’s not just about the big ticketed occasions – there’s a brilliant line up of free activities woven throughout the year, alongside live music, concerts, and theatre. There really is no excuse not to get out and enjoy everything Weymouth has on offer.
A special mention at the launch
At this year’s leaflet launch, Mayor of Weymouth Cllr Caroline Nickinson was joined by the wonderful Poppy Butcher and her son Kevin. Poppy founded the Weymouth Military Festival Parade all the way back in 1994, alongside her late husband John, to mark the 50th anniversary of D-Day – and she’s been a part of it ever since. We can’t wait to welcome the group back for Armed Forces Weekend in June. The military convoy is always one of those moments that stops people in their tracks, with crowds lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the vehicles rolling through.
